man Klein, and in Paris with Bouhy,
Was a well-known vocalist at the Phil-
harmonic Society Concerts ; the Leeds
Choral Society, the Nottingham Choral
Society, Gloucester and Bristol Festi-
vals, and many other leading pro-
vincial musical organisations ; has also
appeared at the Royal Opera, Covent
Garden, as Suzuki in Butterfly " and Maddalena in " Meistersinger,"
and has given successful song recitals
in Germany ; created the part of
Sophia in Liza Lehmann's opera,
" The Vicar of Wakefield," in which
she made her stage debut ,Married to the english bass Norman Allin

Irish Baritone
Studied under Arthur Oswald and Alberto Randegger at the Royal Academy of Music.Sang with the Beecham Opera Company in such roles as Figaro, Papageno, Hans Sachs, Falstaff and Prince Igor, being particularly renowned for his Figaro during the First World War.In 1920, he took on the role of Captain Macheath in The Beggar's Opera at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. He went on to sing the role 1,463 times, and his name is particularly associated with this role.He also performed oratorio, and musical theatre

MIRIAM LICETTE

English Soprano
Studied at Lowther College and was noticed by Melba who advised her to go to Paris and study with Marchesi , she also studied under De Reszke and Melba. Her debut in Rome in 1911 was in the role of Madama Butterfly .She sang with Thomas Beechams Opera Company , British National Opera and at Covent Garden.Her career spanned 35 years.She also entertained the troops with ENSA during WW 2.After her retiremnt she taught singing
