Two weeks earlier we would have seen the salmon scaling these falls after a swim of over 800 km nearing their spawning grounds.

Spiritual Friends 01

This photograph was used as I commissioned an artist friend to add her skill and soul to the work. We now have her heart's work as a painting on our wall. The older lady and younger lady share life and burdens as they lighten the load in each other's company.
Artwork is in note.
Trail B.C. Smelter

This zinc and lead smelter is the lifebood of the small town of Trail, British Columbia. It is the reason for the existence of this town. In the early 90s the smelter was changed to hydro electric power and coal was retired. The environment immediately improved. Most of what you see coming from the smokestacks is steam.
This photograph is SOOC. The two large smokestacks look as though they have been processed in to the picture. It looks a little strange but this is how it looked to the camera.

Between the bench and the smelter is the Columbia River.
The Sunday Challenge. A person-less bench.
Sight and Sound: Pictures and Music. "Holding Hands" by Jessie Smelter. After some searching I found this song which fits with many park benches where dreams are dreamt together. Smelter's song in front of a smelter was irresistible.

It is always a bonus when one gets to see the top of this mountain. Many times it is obscured by cloud.
