There is still a lot of snow here. These fellows are starting to change colours. The snow better leave soon so they are not exposed. First day of Spring. In my backyard.

Saturday Self-challenge: Architecture PIP is a more interesting building in our city. It is a swimming pool. I found a great place to socially distance myself this morning. The low sun was casting long shadows. Here is a condominium in my neighbourhood. We live in the suburbs and everything looks like this. It is the second day of Spring and it was -11C and felt like -18C. It will warm up to just over 0 today.

Saturday Self-challenge: Make something look surreal. See note for what I used as a backdrop. The snowbank was created this week by a snow removal machine that was clearing the cul-de-sac by our house. The figure is from Georges Seurat's "Sunday Afternoon on the Island of Grand Jatte."

Snow clearing equipment came through this week to clear our cul-de-sac of snow. A few days ago this was much larger but the warmer temperatures shrunk it a bit.

My wife leaves out some treats for the hares in our neighborhood, especially during brutally cold weather.

I have kept these old bowling shoes for about 47 years. I outgrew them many, many, years ago. They are a reminder of having fun and competing during my youth. Saturday Self-challenge: shoes

It was raining so we took shelter in a bakery and coffee shop in Obidos, Portugal. Here is a scene that delighted us while we waited for the sun to return.

This Calla Lilly surprised us with a February blooming.

My friends who are into astronomy were going crazy for this event. I had a good view from my bedroom so I grabbed it while I could.

Saturday Self-challenge: Anything that has been rendered obsolete but still being used every day by people everywhere. I went for more obsolete but I would still use this connector to the antennae of my old stereo that does not have a coaxial connector.
