USA "forever" stamp commemorating the forthcoming total solar eclipse of August 21, 2017. The stamp is printed using a thermochromic ink over the moon, so at temperatures below 30 degrees the moon disk darkens and the stamp shows the image of a solar eclipse shot by F. Espenak on March 29, 2006.

The eclipse shall be visible over most CONUS. Many amateur radio Special Events will be on the air to mark the solar eclipse and investigate ionospheric propagation unde rapidly changing solar UV radiation.

I missed this stamp, but not the eclipse. Very cool stamp - and the eclipse, even cooler. I got to witness this 2017 (by driving about 40 minutes out of town to the south) and shared it with my son, and I also witnessed the only one in Oregon before that in 1979. Did you see the 2017 one?

Hi, it seems you had a great time! Unfortunately the eclipse was not visible at my location (Athens, Greece).

I did. Both times.

Looks like Greece had a total eclipse in 1976, but won't have another until 2030. Apparantly you'll want to be prepared for that one because the next one after that in Greece wont' happen until 2136!! Crazy!

At least you have the stamp *smile*.
