Smoking, not smoking?

Smoking, not smoking?
It looks more dramatic than what it is. I was told afterwards that this smoke is just steam, filtered and not increasing pollution.
Some place on the edge of Paris, France.

Mostly steam. Remember fossil fuels are basically chains of carbon (Cs) with a hydrogen (Hs) or 2 so... Burn a carbon you make carbon dioxide but also the 2 hydrogens attached make HOH, water & the heat from the exothermic reaction make it water vapor or steam, -but you knew all that. ;-)

Errrrmmmm.... Jim, of course, of course... errrmmm.... but I needed a little reminder, thank you ;).
Actually, those chimneys belong to an incinerator for some of Paris garbage. Every time I see them, I am very impressed by their majesty, this continuous stream of steam ... I think I need as much to have an access to huge towns than to wild nature, though wild nature is rather rare in my country, well, not in a large scale like by you..

Merci, Boro, je ne les ai plus vues depuis longtemps, ce sont les cheminées des incinérateurs d'Ivry, sauf erreur, et bon, je ne vais plus par là. Dommage.
