MN1015 BIRCH RIVER - (FOUR FOLKS WITH RIFLE - LONG NOTE)

MN1015 BIRCH RIVER - (FOUR FOLKS WITH RIFLE - LONG NOTE)
POSTCARD

Date: Unposted. Handwritten note on reverse is dated December 9, 1913.

Publisher / Photographer: Unidentified

Notation: Handwritten note on reverse reads; "Birch River, Dec. 9th/13. Dear Ada, I received your kind & welcome letter a few days ago. I feel ashamed of myself for not writing sooner. No there was nothing in the letter to offend me. I am awfully sorry I kept you waiting so long. I really can't tell, but I don't think it will be possible for me to get home this winter. Times are awful hard out here this winter. I have about five hundred dollars standing out on farmers notes but I am unable to collect them although most of them are due.Of course it is safe enough but they don't seem to be able to get the cash and I hate to sue them for it. I will write you a letter in a day or two. I have been away back in the mountains for about a month and just got back. I had some pretty hard luck. I only got a shot at one moose and then he got away. Well I guess I will say good bye for this time and look for a letter in a day or two. As ever your true friend, - Edwin"
