Das Kuhtor ist das älteste der noch bestehenden vier Tore der historischen Rostocker Stadtbefestigung. Der frühgotische Bau von 1262 ist auch eines der ältesten Gebäude Rostocks und das wohl älteste erhaltene Stadttor Norddeutschlands.

Beachtlich, mit 2 m Mauerdicke! Ob das auch mal Belagerungen standhalten musste? Ich habe nur gelesen, dass es unterschiedlich genutzt wurde, mal als Gefängnis mal zu Wohnzwecken.
