A view of St. Thomas Anglican Church in a district called Vernon. Fieldstone buildings like this would have taken a great deal of time and effort to build. The church is used occasionally. The cemetery beside it is still in use.

I imagine the skill to build these is quite rare. They did a good job on this building.

Thanks Ronald. I don't know the history of the Vernon district, but it's likely that a group of settlers with masonry skills from England or Scotland settled in the area and pooled their work, including removing stones from their fields as the broke the land.
