Hljóðaklettar
Hljóðaklettar are volcanic plugs eroded by Jökulsá á Fjöllum river, showing irregularly curved basalt columns. In the background left an intact crater can be seen.

Hljóðaklettar sind Teil einer Kraterreihe, die vom Fluss Jökulsá á Fjöllum erodiert wurden, sodass nur noch die Schlote mit vielfältig geformten Basaltsäulen übrig blieben. Im Hintergrund links ist ein noch intakter Krater sichtbar.

Many thanks, Isabel! The river downstream from Dettifoss has some of the most spectacular basalt formations, you could easily spend several days there.
