Lavabeds 01
Took 395 north of Reno back into CA past Honey Lake, which is a giant seasonal lake. The quest was to find the CA, Oregon, Nevada boundary marker.

Abandonded train station at Likely, CA.

Coming up on Goose Lake, which is about as big as Tahoe and extends up into Oregon.

Campground at Goose Lake. It was kinda nice.

Took SR 299 east then Surprise Valley Road north past Upper Alkalai Lake.

Rugged volcanic terrain in the northeast corner of the state.

The tri-state boundary is about 2 miles east and was unreachable due to volcanic cliffs, private property, and passing downpours. Couldn't get to it.

CA / Oregon border on the Surprise Valley Road.

West back on 299 then SR 139 then Co Road 97 and up into Lava Beds National Monument.

Campgrounds were packed together, which is typical, but got lucky with a fringe spot.
