Exploring the Inyo Mountains east of Lone Pine, CA, came upon these ruins of Reward site at the base of Inyo Peak.

Stumbled upon the Manzanar airport. I assume it is no longer in use, since I was able to drive right on to the tarmac.

This old train station was the end of the Lone Pine Short Line, and now apparently private property.

Looking to get out of the wind for camping, explored some roads near Long John Canyon.

Just after dark, my grilled chops and a cigar, this insane apparition appears out of the sky.

I knew nothing about the Space X flight, so this looked like two twin meteors hurtling to earth.

Alone and out of cell range, this was freaky to say the least. For all I knew the earth was about to face a dinosaur like extinction.

Sunrise on the Sierras, lighting up the long switchbacks heading up to Horseshoe Valley.

I visited Darwin, CA before but did not want to venture into the abandoned mining camp complex. I decided to go for it this time.

Intact old window panes are always a nice sign the place has been unmolested by vandals.

I'm guessing built pre-WWII, then continued to operate into the 70's, based on the architecture and furnishings.
