Of course I love this one; I think that we all look for photo creations that we wish we had made, and I love image, title and quotation here. The road appears so grey, the figure so lonely… the sky -its delicate scratched blue - seems to hint at subtle possibilities. Something of hope, something, perhaps invincible.

I’ve been reading John Berger’s “Confabulations “ this morning; he had been reading Camus and thinking about how we are all , in some way, orphans. “ An orphan one learns to be self-sufficient and one learns the tricks of the trade that go with that. One becomes a free-lance.” Perhaps because of reading this I see orphanhood in the picture…Although…is the figure carrying a child? Perhaps it’s Cormac McCarthy’s The Road…Whichever. Invincible.

In this case, the figure is carrying a backpack containing camera equipment. He's a member of the camera group, scoping out his next shot...

Oddly though, the last time I went out in foggy weather to the local park, there were a number of men pushing toddlers around in prams, which, I thought, was very strange!

There must be a good photograph in that…though the written image of “a number of men pushing toddlers around in prams” in foggy weather in the park is on the way to making an unforgettable haiku.
