My astrologist tells me that from the 20th of May to the 20th of June, a passing freight train will be blocking the main outlet down the street. So I may just as well stay home. No need to waste time trying to reach the office. :P

It's just an average afternoon of games, snacks, and gossip with the girls, until that zebra shows up unannounced to reclaim her stolen pelt.

It figures. Forgot to add the insignia last year. Now admitting my mistake has thrown my entire filing system into chaos! :P
But it's a really nice back cover image, isn't it?

Other sections not blessed with cute little paintings: Chowders, Beverages, Vegetables, Hot and Cold Puddings, Custards, Freezer Ice Creams, Cakes and Cookies, Sour Cream Cakes, and Candies.
The illustration for Entrees and Main Dishes isn't posted, because it's nowhere near as good as these others.
Less work for me, at least. ;)

This chapter has nearly identical recipes for Pumpkin Pie and for Squash Pie. Even in the 1930s, every home cook worked diligently to trick kids into eating more vegetables. :D

I did some research, but couldn't find any history of this shop or the folks who ran it, alas. So the date range is just a guess. There's no phone area code listed, and Oregon got its first one in 1947. But this card looks much more recent than that.
Anyway, off to the more important stage: turning it into a pixel-art game where a cat raids the shop and you have to distract them before they can break everything. :D
Slightly enlarged to show detail.

Back in the day, the I. Magnin stores were as chic as chic could be. Even the poop-disposal bags came with little bows to match the useless big bow in the middle of your suit jacket.
