Collage and colored pencil on board. Originally posted 6/15/07. (At Portland's Last Thursday art walk-whatsit, I traded this card to another artist who made cat figurines from Fimo clay. I hope she still feels like she got a good deal.)

Too bad about the camera glare, but you get the idea. These are just awaiting a last coating of gesso. Then it's off to the scanner!

I can't quite believe it, either. But the art drought appears to be at an end. These will be ready to scan very soon, once they're cleaned and sealed. 8)

The outer head/neck/shoulder area is a merge of three filters: "Stylize: Patchwork," "Brush Strokes: Dark Strokes," and "Artistic: Colored Pencil." The face is "Distort: Glass." Brushes were used to blend the edges between the two areas. The type was enlarged with Free Transform.

Figures and circles were copied, repositioned, and re-sized in Transform, then outlined with Stroke. The wall is a blend of "Texturizer: Brick" over "Artistic: Underpainting" with the Brick option. The lawn was textured with a two green shades of "Artistic: Colored Pencil." The pink areas are redone using the Liquify filter. Other touch-ups.

The wall behind the toilet has some "Artistic: Dry Brush." The figure has a little repainting, and the plants have some redrawing with the pastels. The porcelain altar was lightened with "Command L."

Two layers of "Texturizer" (Sandstone and Burlap) and one of "Sketch: Charcoal" over them.

Medium levels of "Stylize: Emboss" and "Texture: Patchwork (both in Overlay mode), "Brush Strokes: Ink Outlines" (in Pin Light mode). Some touch-ups with Stroke, Eraser, and Clone Stamp. Contrast was punched up with Command+L.

A high opacity layer of "Artistic: Underpainting" over a layer of "Texturizer: Burlap" and another of "Sketch: Stamp" (in black and white). Some playing with Free Transform, Eraser, and Liquify. Other touch-ups.

One last straggler from 2008. Somehow I overlooked it before. A mix of this and that, but mostly: "Artistic: Rough Pastels" and "Sketch: Plaster," with a bit of Free Transform and the Burn tool. Other touch-ups and corrections. Posted slightly ahead of my one-per-24-hr schedule, since I have so much to do tomorrow (or is it later today...). Including a guest spot at an Alberta Street Last Thursday table sometime after sundown. Just look for me at the Walch Art Group !
