Nola - Il Fotografo

Nola - Il Fotografo
Nola is a town with a population of about 35.000, located on the foothills of Mount Vesuvius. In the early 5th century, Paulinus von Nola worked in the city, which has been a bishopric since the 2nd century. In 410 Nola was devastated by the Goths under Alaric I. In 455 the Vandal king Genseric had it completely destroyed and its residents sold into captivity. Further looting and destruction were followed in 594 by Lombards, in 860 by Saracens, and in 934 by Hungarians. After the conquest by the Staufer Manfred in 1254, it was annexed to the Kingdom of Sicily.
