Diamante - Street Art

Diamante - Street Art
Diamante is a small town (<+ 5000 inhabitants) on the coast known for two things: Etrog and street art.

Etrog (Diamante citron) is a special variety of yellow lemon grown here. It is used by Orthodox Jews during the harvest festival of Sukkot. Special care is often given to the selection of an etrog for performing the Sukkot holiday rituals. Representatives from the Lubovitch communities ensure that the fruit meets the requirements and purchase suitable fruit. Only a very small part of the harvest meets Etrog's high standards.

In 1981, on the initiative of the painter Nani Razetti, the municipal administration called 85 artists from parts of the world to paint the walls of the alleys of Diamante. 2021, Diamante celebrated the fortieth anniversary of the first murals, creating new works and restoring murals dating from 1981.
