Märjamaa - Maarja
The name Märjamaa contains the name Maarja, because the first church, which was probably built in the 14th century, was dedicated to Mary.

This church was strongly fortified. It was renovated in the 19th century. During WWII the tower and the interior decoration were completely destroyed.

The restoration took place 1958-1960.
