Riga - TV Tower
Riga´s radio un televīzijas tornis (Radio and Television Tower) is the tallest tower in the European Union. It was built between 1979 and 1989. Its highest peak reaches 368.5 metres.
In the foreground, the building of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. Built in Stalinist style between 1951 and 1961. The spire was originally decorated with a wreath and a five pointed star, which was removed after Latvia regained independence in 1991.
