Bordeaux - Basilique Saint-Michel
The Basilique Saint-Michel is a Flamboyant Gothic church, built between the end of 14th century and the 16th century. It replaced an older church, that existed here "extra muros". The separate bell tower ("la flèche"), built in the 15th century on an ancient burial ground, is 114 meters tall. It was for centuries the tallest structure in Bordeaux - and ist still the tallest bell tower in Southern France.
