This large church, that now serves the parish, belonged to a priory dependent from the Augustinian abbey in Lesterp (110 kms north), when it got erected end of the 12th century.
At that time this was a comparably small church, but over the centuries it got enlarged and during the Hundred Years' War heavily fortified. In the 18th century the presbytery was added.
For years, the church was in bad condition, but meanwhile there is a pretty large scaffolding and craftsmen and conservators are working. So I could not enter it.
