Sos del Rey Católico

Sos del Rey Católico
Noontime in Sos del Rey Católico a quaint, historic town with a population of just over 600. Founded as "Sos" by Sancho I of Pamplona during the Reconquista in the early 10th century, the town changed its name to Sos del Rey Católico, after Ferdinand II of Aragon (aka "el Católico") was born here in 1452.
The town, built on a mountaintop, is still surrounded by the old walls and as large parts of the town are unchanged since centuries. It is very quiet here, as there are no cars. Some of the restored buildings are converted into hotels, like that one on the right.
