We used to sing an Australian Christmas Carol at our Kindergarten, "Christmas Where the gum trees grow" and the last line we modified to , "Look, the flowers on the Yacca, see they're here, Christmas time is near."
Some years they didn't flower, and then we'd be "stuck with" the Christmas Bush ... which was equally beautiful.
