Village in Northumberland that used to be the capital of Redesdale.
Grouped around a large central grassy green and amongst the houses are a pub, church - the new village / community hall is just by the Motte Hills just over the beck, sadly, the village school and a cafe are both closed. Initially dropped in for a late lunch, after which we started to walk around, visiting the Motte Hills, site of a timber castle. This was cut short by rain which also, probably, spoilt the afternoon wedding that was in progress.
