*wip* GGF - Gateshead Garden Festival

I started off in early 1989, as part of the team in the training department. During the period the Festival was open, I helped run the on-site visitor transport. This was four different systems, a 15" steam railway, a short length of tramway (with restored local trams), a monorail and lastly a road train. Additionally, we had the Locomotion replica running on a short length of track. I could, and did, drive everything, usually standing in if a member of staff needed an urgent personal needs break, or covering between the shift changeovers. That driving also included the large minibus [optare] capable of transporting several wheelchairs - or members of staff.

Overall, it was a very interesting and enjoyable period in my life, if very hard work at times with some exceptionally long days. I learnt a great many things ...

Now, I need to find, and scan in my images ... I've found some, but I know I have quite a few more.
In late June 2022, after some searching, whilst looking for something completely different, I found a copy of the Souvenir Brochure aka The Guidebook.
