wsc[meme] - tree of joy

30 Dec 2023 2 22
this made me chuckle ... sadly, this version is over-cropped at the top.

wsc[meme] - lights, camera, action !

30 Dec 2023 2 1 20
Most probably pixels, but I can sympathise if those decorations are left flashing all night / day and were put up at Advent [on 1st December] and left up until Candlemas [2nd February] ... {and I know of some people do that ! and play carols and other music the whole time} . not my image : fair use & public information

STR - bright leaves, also fences

05 Nov 2023 12 5 73
Beech trees giving a splash of colour in the background, and a multitude of fences in the foreground. . The shed is actually the STR workshop, the main running line is separated from the public walking route [The South Tyne Trail] by a strained wire fence, which is so thin that it doesn't stop you taking good images of the trains - when they are running ! and the substantial wooden fence on the left protects you from a drop into the river or onto the flood / erosion protective rock armour (as seen in other images).

stb - decisions inc withdrawn in 2023

14 Dec 2023 28
A significant proportion of the "withdrawn" applications in 2023 were dropped by the government, after they made it much easier for them to do that [for example, a missed appointment]. . Some 5k applications from Albanians were refused in 2023. . Being cynical, I wonder how many of the "withdrawn" applications were dumped by the government - on spurious grounds - in order to claim that the "legacy backlog" was being cleared on target. . not my image : fair use & public education

oad[B] - looking out

11 Dec 2023 12 3 113
Beauty sitting in her igloo. She's bunched up the red blankie as a partial draught excluder. She was asleep in almost the same position not long afterwards. Close up cropped from the original image.

oad[B] - Beauty in her igloo

11 Dec 2023 24 6 132
Beauty has settled back down in her igloo after a very short walk around - her balance as a triped is definitely improving, as is her appetite. Still very nervous of humans, but tolerates Ben de-dog a lot more that might be expected.

oad[B] - brunch

11 Dec 2023 5 3 83
Beauty has settled down to eat her brunch. [breakfast was several hours ago and she's made it clear she wanted a top up] The drink is diluted skimmed milk - she's not lactose-intolerant - which she prefers to plain water, which is always available. The incision for the amputation has healed very cleanly and the fur is beginning to grow back. Walking still isn't that easy, she sometimes forgets that her remaining back leg needs to move in more frequent, shorter steps and ends up in a rather extended stretch !

wst - St Bees being plastered

11 Dec 2023 15
Very small image of the prom at St Bees getting a pasting from storm waves [high tide ?] and I suspect the walkway is going to be covered in pebbles and seaweed thrown up from the beach. Taken from the steps outside the "Beach Cafe / Shop" - St Bees is in western Cumbria, a little way South of Whitehaven undated, possibly late Nov or early Dec 2023. not my image [very small] : fair use & public information

wsc[23] - little pudding

Just about the right size of crimble pudding, after the large platefuls eaten for the main course. AJSMOC crimble dinner at the Robin Hood Inn [2023]

stb - initial decision backlog as at nov 2023

05 Dec 2023 29
These applications are continuing to accumulate ... despite the steady progress in clearing the "legacy backlog" ie pre 28June2022 applications. It is only after September 2023 that there is any significant decrease in the overall total of applications awaiting an initial decision. . Not my image : fair use & public education
