RAAC was a "cheap" product, but had a short design lifespan. Trouble is, a purely visual inspection may not reveal that a collapse in imminent / likely, especially with structural components.
IMO it should not have been used in many of the D&B projects and those chickens are now coming home to roost. They should have coughed up and built with materials that would last for much longer periods.
[There is a ferro-cement building in Newcastle that was built in 1905, it was refurbished about 10 years ago, for an alternative use expected to last many more decades !]
