The prospect of any badger cull continuing disgusts me.
The UK government's own scientists say that culling badgers is a) cruel and b) ineffective at controlling the spread of bovine TB. Yet farmers - or at least the NFU - clamour for culling, instead of vaccinating cattle and improving basic farming husbandry practices and biosecurity.
As with foxes, killing individuals just invites others to move about and re-occupy the territory.
