Methane plumes in the USA.
CH4 is a potent greenhouse gas and despite "flaring" a significant quantity escapes to the atmosphere as a direct result of oil & gas extraction and processing. The gas is also emitted from cattle herds and decomposing landfill accumulations.
Note that there are also some natural sources, such as decaying vegetation, such as from coastal mangrove swamps, in addition to the more significant results of human activity.
