cvd - UK vax cohorts timeline, now by 19th July 2021
As part of the changes to the UK unlockening road map, the step due on the 21st June has been delayed until July. This is, in part, to allow time for the NHS to vaccinate as many adults as possible by 19th July 2021. ie all over 18's were eligible as of the 17th June to book their first jab.
Very commendable target BUT it takes three weeks or so to develop a significant level of immunity and you really need to allow a further couple of weeks after the second jab to be optiminally protected.

We have already had one postponement of this so-called "Freedom Day" from the 21st June to the 19th July 2021 - In part so that the NHS can complete their "all adults with first jabs target" ...
But given that it takes some weeks to develop the required immunity, even after the secong jab, I would much rather see a second postponement. Especially given that the 'Indian' variant is spreading [almost exponentially] in some areas.
