DyF - hearths
The two furnace hearths, the wall above the arches shows some evidence of roof supports, as the floor in front would be where the blooms would have been worked [or iron pigs were cast, if the iron was molten, but it is doubtful if charcoal, even with extra / forced draft, could produce enough heat]

These have a massive resemblance to the furnaces at Blists Hill, Coalbrookdale. Here, as I remember, Abraham Darby first used coal as opposed to charcoal in the furnaces. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abraham_Darby_I
Some kind of roof certainly makes sense.. Why work outside in the rain!!
