CAS - old homes - Pucklechurch

CAS - old homes - Pucklechurch
"Elm View" is the large stone house and gateway beyond the pedestrian crossing and the fence. The front part (facing the road) had been a Quaker meeting house, with domestic quarters at the rear.

This house was bought by the couple who became CAS's parents-in-law. The reason was that their home in Bristol had been destroyed in a bombing raid. Luckily, no-one in the family was physically hurt, and a few items of furniture etc were salvaged before the remains were demolished (Actually, after the air-raid just the front wall was left standing).

I spent many happy hours and days visiting here, even had something the kids of today term "sleepovers".
