e2a - a pupil in that school was Andy Murray, now a star tennis player !

e2a2 - * Sadly, a further event on 12 August 2021 in Plymouth, resulted in 5 deaths and 2 more wounded.
[excluding the perpetrator, and he shot himself].

I remember the Dunblane shooting so well, I can hardly believe how long ago it was. I remember that the teacher had tried to hide the children from him, in a cupboard I think. Why he did it is anybody's guess. I'm so glad that they did ban all handguns since. What is more important nowadays is to destroy and certainly ban automatic rifles - why on earth would you need one of those? If you go hunting then the animal will be torn to ribbons, and it can only do considerable damage with people. If remember rightly, didn't the Dunblane gunman, have several guns with him with loads of ammo?

I remember the Hungerford shootings, and when I had to drive past the town on my way back to Kent from Devon, I avoided that area because I didn't want people to think I was rubber necking, the same was when I went through Lockerbie, I didn't dare stop.

Hi Sara,
A nice and meaningful memorial.

Unfortunately society never learns.... We have a murder in London almost every other day..
Guns are illegal, and so are big knives, but the PC brigade go up in arms when the police stop and search the most likely carriers... And then the culprits only get a few miserable years in the slammer. I prefer the American way..

I know the area in Cumbria quite well that a gunman terrorised in June 2010.
[12 deaths and 11 serious injuries, most of the shots were apparently fired at random people]
