O&S - Memory of Quintinshill
The bent remains of a soldier's rifle, he died in the crash / fire at Quintinshill in May 1915. Just one of the 227 people to perish, all but 13 were soldiers. There were another 246 persons injured. At the roll call afterwards only 58 men and officers were present.
