WR - End of the Henry Vernon row
William Riley, and the modern lifeboats at Whitby.
Taken on lifeboat day 2008, after "William Riley" had been rowed (by the 'Ales Angles') from Tynemouth to Whitby, to commemorate the journey of the "Henry Vernon" to aid the Rohilla, wrecked at Saltwick Nab on 29th October 1914.
To see the crowds on the piers, made all the work worthwhile......and the sponsorship raised some welcome funds for the RNLI.
