The Dingle Garden is located within the Quarry Park in Shrewsbury and features ornamental season flowerbeds, ornamental grass areas, rockeries, shrub bed areas and various water features and is locked up and unlocked daily. For some reason it was totally locked yesterday, maybe because of the very strong wind, and the threat to trees, so I took this photo from one of the gateways. I think the pink tree is a type of maple, but I'll check the next time we are here.

Dr. Georg Barlach, Ernst Barlachs Vater, hatte in Ratzeburg mit seiner Familie zunächst in der Seestraße gewohnt, bis er im Jahre 1878 das Haus neben der Stadtkirche St. Petri für 13.000 Mark erwarb, um darin seine Arztpraxis und eine Wohnung für die Familie einzurichten. Das eingeschossige Traufenhaus mit den vier Säulen zur Gartenseite war um 1840 im Stil des ländlichen Klassizismus erbaut worden und wird dem königlich dänischen Hofarchitekten Christian Frederik Hansen zugeschrieben. Zieht man auf der Landkarte einen Strich genau in Richtung Süden, stellt man fest, dass Bayern fast komplett östlich von meinem Wohnort in "Ostdeutschland" liegt.
