KWVR Keighley West Yorkshire 13th March 2022
We made a brief visit to Keighley over the weekend of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway's March Gala to catch a glimpse of the two visitors: rebuilt Scot 4-6-0 46100 Royal Scot and GWR pannier 0-6-0PT 7714.
Here 7714 is drawing forward its empty stock into the headshunt at Keighley out of the way of the arriving 13.35 from Oxenhope double-headed by 41241 and 78022.
It is carrying BR shed code 6J which was Croes Newydd although 7714 was allocated to (& withdrawn from) the shed in 1959 when it was still in the Western Region as 89B. The engine was sold to the National Coal Board and worked out of a colliery near Rhymney in South Wales before purchase for preservation in 1973. It has been based at the SVR for many years.

Great colours too
