We arrived in Baiyin after our overnight train journey from Hami to Lanzhou and drive from Lanzhou in time to take some shots of the 15.15 workers passenger train from Baiyin to Shenbutong as it blasted up the valley behind SY 2-8-2 1581.

I knew exactly where this was when I saw the thumbnail. It can be a bit sketchy climbing on those hills, but the results are always worth the effort. The sound as they hammer up the valley is wonderful!
