Into The Sunset...
With the impending sale of Ipernity, my time here is drawing to a close. I don't plan on paying 50 Euro for the new Ipernity. In fact I never did join the Club, and haven't posted anything new here in awhile. But I wanted to post one more time to say goodbye.
I joined Ipernity back in May 2013 as part of the mass exodus from Flickr when they messed up their interface. I liked the clean, simple look of Ipernity. It was definitely a rip off of the old Flickr interface, but it was what I wanted so I joined.
Many of my Flickr friends also joined and at first it seemed we would all transition over to Ipernity. Only it never happened that way. After a month or so, there was very little being posted here by my Flickr contacts. Groups that they started just wilted away, and I was the only one posting on them.
I kept plodding away here, along with continuing on Flickr. Then the flareup over "Seen In" comments began. I'm not a fan of big flashy comments, but if other people liked them, good for them. But I found myself being banned from Groups just because someone posted a "Seen in such and such a group" comment on my photo. It was all so childish.
I did find some new contacts here on Ipernity that I really enjoyed. That's why I stayed here for four years, even though I didn't post all that much. There was a nice interaction that I enjoyed and didn't want to lose.
But now that Ipernity is moving on to it's next chapter, I will be moving on as well. I wish this website had gained more traction with the Flickr community than it did. I wish Ipernity the best of luck in the future. There are some amazing photographers here, and it is a passionate community. But I feel that it's not for me anymore. Thank you to Ipernity and everyone who commented on my photos over the last four years.
If anyone is interested in following me on Flickr, my username is the same: Jasperdo. I know some of my Ipernity friends are active once again of Flickr. If anyone else would like to say "Hi" to me over there, you're more than welcome.
Oh, and one last thing. This photo is the Coquille River Lighthouse in Bandon, Oregon. USA

I'm worse about commenting over at flickr than I am at commenting here, though that might clear up once I stop trying to divide my time between the platform. I'm glad I know where to find you, though, and that you're still going strong, as your stuff is always interesting, and it overlaps with my own stuff often enough to be almost freaky. So I look forward to continuing to see you on the other side.
Jasperdo has replied to ClintBTW I'm still expecting to run into you at some obscure NPS site sometime.
