Great Crested Newts

Seen at the Cheshire Wildlife Trust open day at Trentabank in Macclesfield Forest. Just seeing these beautiful creatures took me back to my childhood days trying to catch newts at the local marl pits.

The person promoting newt conservation was licensed to have the newts there as they are a protected species and even handling them without a licence could be an offence.
