Converted railway station

Converted railway station
Still in Bussière Dunoise, this is the former railway station, now converted to a private house. Built in 1896 by the Paris-Orleans Company, this was on a line that ran from Gueret to Saint Sebastian, which was a junction on the Paris-Toulouse line, and linked many small towns and villages, but the increasing use of commercial vehicles and private cars reduced traffic on the line, and it didn't survive long. Passenger services ended in 1940, and freight trains ceased in 1952, when the line was finally closed.

1953 Canon IVSb, f2.0/50mm Jupistar 8 lens, x 2yellow filter. Polypan F in D23, 10mins @21C. Scanned on Epson V500@2400dpi.
