As a child I traveled this road with my parents long ago. From our car my sister exclaimed, "Look!! It's Ice Cream Cone Mountain". In 1918 the acting director of the newly created National Park Service changed the name to Zion National Park. Protecting areas of natural beauty and national historic significance are the responsibility of the president through a law giving the chief executive the legal power to create National Monuments. What kind of legacy in protection of our precious parklands is the current president going to leave?
