Muir Woods National Monument is a popular destination introducing visitors to an old growth redwood forest.

This photo was taken by a Kiev 88C medium format film camera and an МС BEГA-26B 2.8/120mm lens with a Чф-1x 62x0.75 filter using Fuji Pro 400-H film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

It must be a fabulous forest!
I have only one dawn redwood in my garden and I can only imagine a whole forest of them ;)

It was fabulous that William Kent purchased the woods in order to prevent it being logged. He then donated the woods to the Federal Government with the promise that it would be protected as a National Monument.

I am reading the history of Muir Woods
www.nps.gov/muwo/learn/historyculture/historyofmuirwoods.htm
and I am genuinely impressed.
Mr. William Kent was a brilliant and generous man!
