Evidently, there has been a bit of evaporation since the Trona Tufa Pinnacles (tufa formations) were formed deep under the surface of Searles Lake many millennia ago.
This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens with a Pentax 67 82ø Y48(Y2) SMC filter using Rollei RPX 25 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Very nice toning. Much, much better than what one can see coming from PS sepia filters (oh, sometimes I think that they should be banned).
