Evidently, there has been a bit of evaporation since the Trona Tufa Pinnacles (tufa formations) were formed deep under the surface of Searles Lake many millennia ago.

This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens with a Pentax 67 82ø Y48(Y2) SMC filter using Rollei RPX 25 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

I scan my B&W negatives in RBG (color) mode because the 3 channels seem to bring out more detail. Normally, I then convert to black and white but liked the digital sepia effect of this photo.
