You can count on me!

Yes, I know that if there is nothing else around, you will always find a bunch of Chickadees. Saw this one on my outing today. After tomorrow, perhaps my photos will have a look of winter about them - my daughter said that the forecast is for 3 cm of the white stuff. Not much, just enough to make everywhere look fresh and clean, and to cause bad driving conditions. The highest this photo got in Explore was #306 on 10th January 2007.

Freeze!

I think this must have been the same little Chickadee that remained motionless on a branch the other day. Has anyone ever come across this behaviour before? Normally, these birds are never still, so it is rather weird to see one "freeze" for a while. Not the slightest flinch!

Hi, Honey

Took this photo towards the end of April 2005, so I guess it was too early in the year to be "Feed Me" time, but must have been "Hi, Honey" time. Gives a bit of an idea of how beautiful Magpies are when their wings are spread.

Looking cute

OK, you've had a break and so now it's back to these little birds. Another reason I want to get them on to Flickr is that maybe a couple of hundred of my fairly recent photos are "stuck" in my Camedia (Olympus camera) software on my computer. When I open this particular album, the photos show for a second or two and then I always get an Error message and it closes down. I am thankful that I have a few of the better photos safely on Flickr so that I can download them, but if anyone has any suggestions as to how to get the rest from Camedia, I would be SO grateful!!

They're mine!

Oooooh....temper tantrum! Chickadees never like another Chickadee coming near the food, as this photo taken today, shows!

My best penguin act

A couple of Magpies were hanging around with the Chickadees this afternoon, so aren't you lucky, LOL? More Magpie photos. Some angles really aren't the best - like this one:)!

If I just sit and wait...

For some strange reason, the Chickadees were easier to photograph this afternoon. A female White-tailed Deer and her two young ones were hanging around nearby, feeding amongst the bushes. Happy Feathery Friday, everyone! The highest this photo got in Explore was #29 on 14th January 2007.

Within reach

Couldn't decide which of these two photos I preferred, so I posted both. Not sure if there is a slight injury near the beak. These Magpies watch where the Chickadees hide all the seeds!

Up close

I really enjoyed the fact that the Chickadees were having a less hectic afternoon - think I got more OK photos than all my other Chickadee photos put together!
