Explore Front Page, Flickr

The ground was covered in wet leaves on a recent walk in South Glenmore Park. However, this was the leaf that caught my eye : ) This actually made it to Front Page (interestingness#5) on 28th October 2009 - thanks so much, EVERYONE! I never bother with this, but after a few people left comments here to let me know, I just had to check the screen shots they very kindly left for me! Much appreciated.

Wasn't going to upload this, but then thought that perhaps I would, so that it is included in my Explore Set. In three years, I haven't bothered to check Front Page, so would not even have known that my photo was there if several people hadn't told me. Thank you to those who very kindly did a screen save for me - much appreciated. Hoping I can find how to disable comments once my photo is uploaded, 'cos I can't see anywhere yet where I can turn it off : ) NO COMMENTS, please - just for my records! I've already thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated all your kind comments under the actual photo : )

Just for my own records. Decided I would add these to my Flickr photostream after all - kind of feels like I'm bragging, though, which is why I originally didn't post them. I seem to have been black-listed by Explore, LOL, after getting three of my images - the ONLY three that I am aware of - on Front Page, these two on consecutive days. So, these three FPs will most likely be the only three I ever get in, anyway : ) I never think of checking Front Page (never have done in over three years, as I must admit I don't really consider it a big deal), so I would never have known if others hadn't told me and two people hadn't kindly saved screen shots for me. However, I DO thank all of you for taking the time to look at any of my images at any time. THAT is a big deal and is so very much appreciated!

Isn't this the cutest little thing? I love having Red-breasted Nuthatches fly down to my hand - they are so small and light and dainty. Saw this little guy in Fish Creek Park on 31st December last year. Explore Front Page, 19th November 2009

Another Christmas bauble from a walk down in a local park, where someone had decorated one of the Spruce trees. Can't decide whether I like this one best, or the blue one that I posted recently : ) I like the tiny splashes of blue, red and gold in this one. Only six days left till Christmas now. For me, this will be the simplest Christmas I think I've ever had - haven't even put out my Christmas decorations this year. I am SO behind with absolutely everything, in general, that I know there is no way I can deal with Christmas things. The last few days of dizziness haven't helped : ) Not well-timed at all. For most of you who do celebrate Christmas, I'm sure the next few days will be hectic, though I hope you are able to find a little time to relax in between shopping, wrapping, baking, visiting, and so on. Have a healthy, safe and happy Christmas! May the New Year be a good one for each of you : ) And let's remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves. A special thought goes out to those of you who are unable to be with family or friends during the Christmas Season. I need to write down the instructions, but also need to remember where I put the piece of paper they are written on, LOL. Oh, well, please, no comments ...
