Mother and child
Came across this female Mule Deer with her youngster just as the sun was beginning to set in a local park. The big ears and white tail with a black tip identify these as Mulies.

Fall colours
This was taken in a local park two years ago. Last year, I "missed" fall and I will have to be quick or I will miss the golden colours again this year. Fall is over so quickly.

Snowy Owl
The weather was strange on the day I took this photo. The sky was dark grey yet the sun was throwing a golden light on the white feathers of this magnificent Snowy Owl. I'm not sure if it is a female or a young male. The adult males are white but females and young males have the dark streaking on them to varying degrees. I know this photo was #495 at one point, but have no record of whether it got any higher.

Gooseberry leaves in fall
We don't get glorious red Maple leaves here in Calgary like they grow in eastern Canada. So, I tell myself that these tiny Gooseberry leaves are my mini-Maples in the fall. They turn such a beautiful bright colour.

Sunset over Weaselhead
Not a particularly spectacular sunset but it was at my favourite place.

African Wild Dogs
African Wild Dogs are also known as Painted Dogs. Their habits are similar to those of the Wolf. Their numbers have been declining in the wild in Africa and they are now the rarest large carnivore in the whole of Africa. The Calgary Zoo has a pack of six males, named Watson, Waldo, Weasley, Warner, Wilson and Wheaton.
