Powerful. No sign of human activity other than some laundry hanging on a balcony. Very grim.

Thanks MJ.
It was very eerie walking around with my camera. Thankfully I saw maybe two or three people as I was beginning to feel like I was in a ghost town. I would like to know how many of these architects who thought this was so wonderful in the 50s live in these complexes now....

This is brilliant. So atmospheric. A real work of art and a great soundtrack. How did you create it?
The problem with a lot of estates was the way they were run down, particularly under Thatcher. Puts me in mind of a fascinating 2011 BBC documentary - the Rise and Fall of the Council House. Worth watching if you didn't see it at the time. I've found it on YouTube here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVGMyo40SyE
And what about, for example, Trellick Tower. Once a crime-ridden slum, now GII listed and half a million to buy a flat there...

Thank you Jen for your kind comments!
I used a slideshow making program called 'Soundslides' and the music I found on the Free Music Archive website.
Soundslide is easy to use but nowadays there are free programs that are just as easy to use and some have more functionalities (Photostory 3 for Windows, or if you use Windows XP, the good old MOvie Maker is nice).
I've had these pictures for a while and I knew they'd have more impact presented in a more dynamic way so I am very happy you like it!
I never saw the program but will definitely watch it this weekend, thank you so much for the link!
