Went to a damp and soggy Isle of White for New Year :-)

On New Year's Eve, before the 8-course Gala Dinner, we wanted to go out for a walk but it was much too soggy :-) So, we used the buses to visit a few places. The final 'port of call' was Yarmouth and the rain actually stopped long enough for me to grab a few shots of Yarmouth Pier, that dates from 1876, whilst the rest of the group were finishing their snacks :-)

I didn't think I was goin' to find a song about Piers but then I came across "Love At The Pier" by Blondie :-)

I was not a big follower of Blondie so for some reason I thought she was from the 80s and am surprised to learn she was popular in the 70s. This is such a cute, live performance by her. Makes me wish I would have paid more attention.

Anyway, I'm glad you're back! I hope you're all dry by now. I see you've managed to make the most of the wet with this fantastic image. I love the lines and the shades of grey.

Hi Karen. I'm not the biggest fan of Blondie but having said that I haven't properly listened to all their music. I have a couple of their records one of which is a "Best Of" album. I will say that I do like Debbie's outfit in the video :-) Yep, have pretty much dried out now :-) Thank you for complimenting my photo. I have quite a lot of catching-up to do on ip :-)

With a lot of difficulty :-)) Some of the courses were quite small and I think the odd glass or two or three of wine helped :-)) Breakfast at 10 'o' clock the following morning was a struggle though :-))
