Twins with Sister
For awhile I thought of collecting vintage twin pictures but realized rather quickly that I didn't have the time to specialize that much! I did get a few though.
Bought in Vermont somewhere. No identifying information.
Girl with Fancy Sleeves
Two Girls Reading
This has the feel and look of a home developed photo.
I wonder what they were reading? The one on the right is holding her doll.
This was purchased in Plainfield, Vermont at an antique store and found in a shoebox full of mostly poor quality pictures.
I really like this one though.
Tintype of Pink Cheeked Girl

Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of spooky children.
I actually never really saw her that way, but since I have had many comments over the years with people seeing her as creepy, and failing any other likely spooky children images, here she is!
This is a favorite - I love her little face and her high button boots, her hat and her rather stringy hair.
I bought this years ago in Connecticut. She always reminded me of Shelly Duval. : )
Twin Boys with Striped Stockings

Another twin picture. Purchased in the 1980's at the Ferrisburgh flea market. No identifying information on the back.
Little Blondie #1
Studio portrait from North Dakota - given to me in Connecticut.
Whoever cut her hair did a miserable job!
This is the first of two photographs.
Little Blondie #2
Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "Hands/Feet".
A little less formal than the other photo of this little girl! (in the North Dakota album.)
I love the bare feet , with her dress off and in her petticoat - maybe the session went too long.
Proud of her Long Hair

Purchased in an antique shop in South Burlington, Vermont.
Photograph taken in the Winooski, Vermont studio of E.H. Dunton.
All Dressed Up
I've always found this picture unsettling or maybe puzzling is a better word and I'd love to know what other people think.
Is this a child playing dress-up? Is it a diminutive woman with a child's face? Is this a "little person'?
I found this in an antique shop on Grand Isle, Vermont.
Sister and Younger Brother
Purchased in Grand Isle, Vermont.
On the back in in pen is written Islay (?) and Norman Strachan.
You can see that this was in a frame for many years.
The photographers imprint on the front says:
The Burnham Studio
Burlington, Vermont

Brought forward, at Alan's suggestion, for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of "ALREADY UPLOADED - ANYTHING GOES!"
Purchased in Middlebury, Vermont, about 1998.
It came in a very pretty blue glass art deco frame but I had a relative I wanted to put in there so... out she came!
I think the frame and the picture together were $8. Good deal.
There are no identifying notes.
The Girls
Given to me by a friend who purchased it in the Adirondack region of New 'york State.
No identifying information.
Jackson Baby
Never too young to wear a giant bow.
Purchased in Middlebury, Vermont.
There's a local family of Jacksons that I'm going to check with to see if they recognize this baby.
I'll post if they do.
The Emigrants
Found in an old suitcase belonging to my husband's grandmother. These people were friends or relatives who apparently emigrated to somewhere in South America from Scotland or northern England. There were a few other faded pictures of them - I'll see if I can find to check if any had names or labels.
Rather a dull looking bunch, I wonder if they led exciting lives.

Found photograph - her name and (I assume) town - Seymour - is written in pencil on the back.
Also on the back - the photographer:

Women Behind Shrubbery
There's some story here - I wonder what it is? The two women on the right appear to be maids with one of the women on the left playfully admonishing the woman on the far right - but what they are doing behind the bushes?
I've guessed (and added to the group) that this was taken between 1900 and 1910.
No idea where it was taken. I found it in an old box of photos in Vergennes, Vermont - some of them were from Canada - some from New England region.
This looks English to me but it's probably the influence of all those old BBC series!
